Ken Brady – CEO, Genkii

 

rethink_kenKen Brady is multiple kinds of geek who splits his time between Tokyo and Portland.

He’s a futurist and science fiction writer, with stories and articles in eight languages, in print and online. He’s also sold stage plays and screenplays and has produced an award-winning feature film.

Ken is Co-Founder and CEO of Genkii, a start-up formed in early 2008 that creates 3D virtual worlds and communications applications, games for mobile, and an interactive comics platform for the iPhone and iPod touch. Most of Genkii’s time is currently focused on launching Sparkle, a 3D virtual world for iPhone, iPod touch, and other platforms.

In addition to developing its own products, Genkii works with companies such as Linden Lab, 3Di, Dentsu and Elle to develop virtual worlds and game projects and with organizations such as the Meta Institute of Computational Astrophysics, the Japanese Space Administration and the National Informatics Institute to create 3D data simulations and environments.

Ken is also the Science Park Representative for the Kira Institute, a global non-profit that explores the use of virtual worlds technology in furthering new forms of education.

Ken also runs Tokyo Beer and Blog, a monthly gathering of tech people and bloggers, giving them an opportunity to get drunk together.
